Topic: _Productive christian_ Part 6
Anchor scripture:
Acts 3:2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;
Welcome to this week's teaching on Productive christian. This is the last episode of our series. It's going to focus on the last factor of spiritual growth or the christian productivity. Last week, we looked at the importance of getting exposed to the unadulterated word of God and the need to enforce the promises of God in His word by prayer. Kindly read the Part 5 in case you haven't yet read it. This session promises to take you deeper by laying emphasis on location or environment.
Our anchor scripture tells us of a cripple laid at a particular spot for his daily survival and the place he was laid was at the gate of the TEMPLE called "Beautiful". The story continues to tell us that one day the cripple no longer remained at the gate but entered into the temple after he was healed by the power of God by the hands of Peter and John. Where this cripple was laid might not be of interest but I also see that where he was laid contributed greatly to his healing. He might not be the only cripple in town; some might have been laid at the traffic light others at the market junction but no record was made of their healing except the one laid at the gate of the temple.
Places play major roles in our journey to becoming productive. Places increase or decrease our chances of becoming productive or successful. We endanger our lives as believers by standing in certain places. We were saved and brought into a place and we must endeavour to dwell there.
Colossians 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:.
We were saved from darkness and brought into light; we've got to stay in the light and walk in the light. Hallelujah! There are principalities, powers and rulers that control places. They determine the atmosphere in that place. In John 5, the Bible tells us about a POOL. At the pool laid many sick people. These people get healed at a certain moment when the angels visit the place. The healing atmosphere at the pool was conditioned by the angels that visited.
Hebrews 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion ?, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, This is what was written about ZION; which means Zion was not just a place people meet to worship but HEAVENLY CITY where there are innumerable angels.
Places are spiritual. Unknown to you spiritual activities take place in places we find ourselves whether good or evil. That is why when choosing a career, we might be mindful of the working atmosphere. Under the old covenant, God commanded the Moabites not to enter into the temple. The reason being that there was a curse placed on them and should they enter into the temple the curse would break.
Deuteronomy 23:3 An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the LORD for ever:
In Isaiah, it is written that the curse shall be broken by the reason of the ANOINTING.
Isaiah 10:27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing. Understand that the anointing that breaks yokes is not in every place. The anointing comes by the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit is in a place and not in every place.
2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
The believer must identify where the Holy Spirit is and there he must be for his spiritual clinicals. It is the Spirit that brings result. Jesus was teaching at one time in a place and the Bible says there was power to heal every sick person there and not those in their homes or the hospitals.
Luke 5:17 And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Jud a ea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.
Never take places for granted. Paul exhorted the church to endeavour to keep meeting and not follow those who take meetings of the beloved in Christ for granted.
Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
There are some secrets and enabling power that cannot be found anywhere else except in the church where Christ is exalted and the Holy Ghost acknowledged.
Furthermore, we must note that it is people who form places. The people in a place condition the atmosphere of the place. Sometimes it is not so much about the place itself but THE PEOPLE. Our productivity is directly connected to the people we hang around with.
1 Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
According to the scripture, if we walk with evil men, we will eventually become evil. All truths are parallel; this means that if a man walks with a spiritual or a productive christian, he will eventually become spiritual or productive. This is also very important: as youth, don't just choose to marry someone because of what the person possesses but what has possessed the person. Does that young man or lady have life? What proceeds from his or her mouth, does it edify? Remember the words of the Lord: "What shall profits a man when he gains the whole world but loses his soul?
2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
My brother, my sister, please pay attention to the words of the Bible. It is written that even the foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of the world. I'm not sure you have gotten a wisdom wiser than the wisdom of the Bible yet. Don't say, we are just friends. If you don't change his course, he will change yours. It was written of the disciples of Christ that they were bold and intelligent because they walked with Christ.
Acts 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
Whom you often sit with determines who you become. In another word, your association determines your productivity.
Kindly pay attention to this: the enemy is seeking to make you useless by attacking your faith. Don't become a victim by choosing to stand in the wrong with the wrong people.
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
I pray God grant you discernment and deliver you from any demonic set up against your faith.
In case you have not yet welcome Jesus into your life, this could be the right time to do that. Christ is a place. Jesus Christ says "abide in me and I will abide in you'. Jesus is the right place to be, welcome Him into your life and your life will never ever be the same.
